Restorative Dentistry » Inlays and Onlays
If a tooth has a previous very large filling or has a very large cavity, it may not be appropriate to restore this using a conventional white filling material. Under these circumstances the dentist will prepare the tooth and take moulds. the patient is then fitted with a temporary restoration. The moulds are then sent to our dental laboratory where the restoration is made. this will usually be in a ceramic tooth coloured material which is much harder and tougher than ordinary white filling material. The entire process is completed in a week.
